DIVING IN COLOMBIA HAS A NAME POSEIDON DIVE CENTER

Here we show you all the SAFETY REQUIREMENTS required by the Colombian Nautical Authorities ( DIMAR )

which must be fulfilled by each operator who transport passengers in the area of Santa Marta.

Both boats we have fulfil the requirements and also we have a VHF Marine Radio in our office and additionally we carry

DAN O² OXYGEN UNITS in the boats.

Our dive trips are done in two comfortable dive boats: POSEIDON DIVE and POSEIDON DIVE 1

In April 2007 we received our new, innovative boat: POSEIDON DIVE specially designed for divers,

a 10m Catamaran with 2 x 150 HP 4 stroke outboard engines with a complete roof, 4 entries and exists,

GPS, VHF Marine Radio, Fishfinder and sound system.

The boat can be used for maximal 18 divers.

With proud we can say that POSEIDON DIVE IS THE 1st real dive boat operating in Colombia!

POSEIDON FUN DIVE is our new dive boat, also Catamaran Style and the
trip of inaugurtion was 18 March 2011.
It is a 27ft Catamaran with a maximum capacity of 12 passengers, fresh water shower,
2 100HP Yamaha 4-stroke engines, GPS, mid roofed, VHS marine radio, sound system,
3 entries and exists, maximum speed is 30mph.
But the very best is, that this boat is super comfortable for the divers, with sufficient space in the boat. From now on our clients on any dive trip can enjoy these comfortable boat rides
to reach the different dive spots.

At POSEIDON DIVE CENTER we have a strict program of equipment maintenance to assure our client safety and peace of mind as well the great fun that is diving.

In our resort we have a SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN TRAINED
BY BAUER COMPRESORS.

POSEIDON DIVE CENTER, uses a quality German compressor the BAUER K 14
from which we take regular air samples which are sent for checking to specialist laboratories in the United States. The procedure ensures our compliance with the compressed air for breathing requirements and oxygen compartibale established by the CGA G-7.1-2004
GRADO E (2) regulations.

The course materials we work with are the most up to date available from PADI which facilitate autonomous effective learning at your own speed.

Nitrox

As an addicional service we installed in November 2006 the use of NITROX
( ENRICHED AIR WITH MIXTURES FROM 32 UNTIL 36% OXYGEN).
The greatest advantage about diving with Nitrox is the longer No decompression
limit and you feel less tired after your dives. You can count with 23 scuba tanks exclusively for Nitrox.

As the water in Taganga is relatively cold, temperature can drop to 20° in January and February, we decided to change
the wetsuits to LONG, FULL 5mm WETSUITS, therefore you can enjoy long dives without getting cold.

In Oktober 2009 we received our new BAUER COMPRESSOR 500, now we can fill the tanks much faster and also it is supersilent.
